TMJ Treatments

by david

While there are many TMJ treatments, not all of them are made equal. In this article I’ll show you the most standard tmj treatments and will point out those that work and those that don’t.

One of the most expensive treatments is the ever standard TMJ surgery. Many doctors will recomme

nd this, but I’ve seen what it can do to people. After seeing a close friend spend over $30,000, and still have TMJ problems, this is not a route I in person will take. The doctors will even tell you that there is no guarantee that the surgery will be successful.

Another standard tmj treatment selection is the TMJ backtalk guard. I’ve used these before, and

they don’t work very well. The backtalk guard is meant to keep your backtalk open a bit throughout the night, relaxing the jaw muscles and releiving some pain. But, it will not cure your TMJ! For me, it in fact made it worse by weakening my already compromised joint. Another treatment I wouldn’t recommend. Here’s an article I wrote some time ago about the backtalk guard.

Some other TMJ treatments are:

  • TMJ pillows
  • Topical pain releiving creams
  • Glucosimine

The problem with most of these treatments is that they do nothing to in fact strengthen the muscles around the joint, which is what is needed to in fact cure your TMJ.

I recommend some simple TMJ exercises that you can complete at home, that will strengthen your jaw muscles and joint over time, which will reduce your pain and will cure your TMJ.

A book I’ve read and recommend in the past is the TMJ Help Program. It’s TMJ treatments are simple to do, and have nearly completely cured my TMJ. I’ve been using it for about 3 months now and can’t say enough excellent equipment about it.
